Alex Chilton of the influential Seventies band Big Star passed away on Wednesday 17th March 2010. He was responsible for writing and recording some of the most soulful and sad songs in the history of popular music. 'Thirteen' is my favourite track that he wrote (along with the late Chris Bell) as well as for many other people, it's so simple yet so affecting and has a timeless quality about it...Rest In Peace Alex and thank you for sharing your talent with us.
